GST/HST/QST on Comforhome

Comforhome Website Services:

The website services provided by Comforhome are subject to GST/HST/QST taxes in compliance with Canadian tax laws. If you purchase listing features or post listings in paid plans, we will collect GST/HST/QST based on your province of residence. Please note that this is not a price increase but an obligation to collect and remit applicable taxes to the government.

Any taxes collected on Comforhome website services will be indicated as a separate charge on your seller invoice or at checkout for purchases.

If you are a business user, we recommend consulting your financial advisor to determine if your company is eligible for an Input Tax Credit for the sales tax collected on Comforhome services.

GST/HST/QST for Third-Party Service Providers on Comforhome

You may be required to pay GST/HST/QST for your service sales made on Comforhome. If you are uncertain about this requirement’s applicability, we advise contacting the Canada Revenue Agency or seeking professional advice regarding your tax obligations.

If you are required to charge GST/HST/QST on your services:

  1. For listings on Comforhome. You should add GST/HST/QST to the final value of a service once it has been purchased.
  2. As the third-party service provider, you are responsible for remitting the collected GST/HST/QST in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations.

Information for Buyers on Comforhome

All website services on Comforhome include GST/HST/QST, where applicable.

All home care services in the home care category on Comforhome also include GST/HST/QST, where applicable.

Third-party service providers may add GST/HST/QST to the final sale price after a service has been sold, and they are responsible for sending you the invoice. If you have purchased a service and require a tax invoice reflecting the GST/HST/QST component, please contact the third-party service provider.

Please note that this information serves as formal notification and provides clarity on the GST/HST/QST obligations for Comforhome services. It is important to adhere to these terms to ensure compliance with Canadian tax laws.

Live Chat Code of Conduct

While Comforhome does not actively monitor replies sent within our system between users, we reserve the right to delete or ban those who we deem to be using replies inappropriately. When contacting other users:

  1. Please treat them with courtesy and respect.
  2. Please do not reply to listings with unsolicited opinions, comments, or judgments on the content of the listings or about the poster.
  3. All replies to listings must be in connection to what the listing is offering. Replies regarding other commercial offers are not permitted.
  4. Abusive listing replies are not permitted. Any replies containing hate speech or defamation are strictly prohibited.
  5. Impersonating other users, including supplying fake phone numbers, is not permitted, and those who are found to be doing so may lose the ability to use Comforhome.

Comforhome reserves the right to revoke the ability of any users to reply to ads without notice.

If you receive a reply that you feel is inappropriate, please report it to our support team.

Terms of Booking Feature

Thank you for choosing our website’s booking feature. We have outlined the following policy to ensure a smooth and transparent booking process for both individuals and service providers. Please review and adhere to these guidelines when utilizing the booking feature on our website:

  1. Service Availability: It is essential to clearly specify the services that are available for booking and the corresponding time periods. This will enable users to make informed decisions and plan their appointments accordingly.
  2. Charges and Pricing: Please provide detailed information regarding any variations in charges for different services and sessions. It is crucial to be transparent about pricing to avoid any confusion or discrepancies.
  3. Timely Communication: When a user submits a booking request through the booking feature, both the user and the listing owner will receive email reminders. As a responsible service provider, please ensure prompt responses to booking requests, providing confirmation or alternative options when necessary.
  4. Privacy Policy: We prioritize the protection of users’ information. By utilizing the booking feature, service providers are expected to comply with our Privacy Policy, ensuring the confidentiality and security of user data.
  5. Reservation Fee Refunds: If you choose to implement a Reservation Fee, a clear refund policy must be in place. Users should be aware of the conditions under which a refund can be obtained for a canceled booking.
  6. Payment System Fee: When utilizing our payment system to collect the Reservation Fee, a non-refundable charge of 20% will be deducted from the Reservation Fee collected by the listing owner, irrespective of whether the booking is subsequently canceled. In cases where the Reservation Fee is less than $10, we will charge 20% of $10.

User Review Policies

By using Comforhome, you acknowledge and agree to abide by our user review policies. Reviews include a rating of 1 to 5 stars and reasons supporting your evaluation. Your review, username, profile photo (if available), and the listing category of the seller will be publicly displayed.

It is essential to leave user reviews in good faith, ensuring a fair representation of your interaction with the other user. When leaving a review on another user’s account, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Be truthful and accurately depict what transpired between you and the other user.
  2. Do not use reviews as a means to harass or abuse another user.
  3. Avoid using reviews to manipulate or mislead other users.
  4. Fixed Reviews: Once submitted, users cannot edit or remove reviews. This policy ensures the integrity of the review system.

We reserve the right to remove any reviews that violate our policies or guidelines. To maintain the integrity of the review system, users are unable to edit or remove reviews on their own profile or someone else’s. Additionally, Comforhome does not mediate review-related disputes.

Please keep in mind that user reviews reflect the opinions of individual Comforhome users and do not necessarily represent the opinion of Comforhome.

Linking to a Website

Including a link to your website is permitted for the following purposes:

  • Directing users to additional product information
  • Providing access to a page with more pictures
  • Offering an alternative contact method on a separate page

Please note that your listings must pertain to a specific service. Listings solely intended to redirect traffic to another website are not permitted on Comforhome.

Furthermore, it is prohibited to include a URL within an image of the item or promote referral codes for the purpose of gaining referral credit.

Posting Duplicate Listings

By listing on Comforhome, you seek prompt results. We share the same desire! To facilitate this, kindly consider the following recommendations:

  • Avoid posting duplicate listings in one or multiple categories, as they can frustrate our user community. If uncertain about the appropriate category, please search for similar listings to determine their placement. Attempting to post another listing duplicate will trigger our automated filters, resulting in their removal.
  • For enhanced exposure, post your listing within your region. Posting in multiple areas is acceptable, primarily if you reside near two areas. It is crucial to remember that potential buyers are willing to use the Provincial search or distance search feature to locate listings. Hence, posting a single listing is generally as effective as multiple listings within your region.

Important Note:

  • We retain the right to remove ads that impede the user experience.
  • Listings in all Service categories should be concise. Include all aspects of a service within a single listing rather than creating separate listings for each service.

Age Restrictions

At Comforhome, we prioritize the safety of your entire family. We recognize that in today’s digital age, children spend more time on the internet, and online classifieds can offer an exciting avenue to discover toys, video games, clothing, and other interesting items.

While we take pride in being a website suitable for the entire family, we are fully aware of the potential risks associated with online transactions. To ensure the utmost safety, we kindly request that individuals under the age of 16 have their parent or guardian handle any responses to ads they find intriguing. Furthermore, should you wish to post an ad on Comforhome, please have your parent or guardian do so on your behalf to facilitate their direct involvement in the transaction.

Please be informed that Comforhome reserves the right to remove any ads and listings that we believe are not in the best interest of our users’ safety.
