Compassionate Caregiver: Delivering Person-Centered Support in the Comfort of Home

As a compassionate and dependable Personal Support Worker (PSW), I bring a unique blend of experience, skills, and passion to my work. With a strong commitment to person-centered care and resident safety, I have a proven track record of supporting adults in residential care, dementia care, and daily living activities.

My journey as a PSW began with a placement at Angel’s Retirement Home, where I had the privilege of working with residents with dementia. I applied memory care techniques to reduce confusion and manage anxiety, while also supporting social engagement and overall well-being. Collaborating with care teams, I monitored and updated care plans to ensure the best possible outcomes for our residents.

In my entry-level role at Cavendish Manor Retirement Residence, I provided personal care, mobility support, and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). I promoted emotional and social well-being among residents, while observing and documenting resident health status and reporting changes to supervising staff.

As an Office Administrator at Purpose Immigration, I honed my organizational skills, attention to detail, and accountability. I managed documentation, scheduling, and correspondence using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, while maintaining confidential client records following privacy standards.

Throughout my experiences, I have developed a strong foundation in direct support and personal care, dementia and memory care, and intellectual and developmental disability support. I am confident in my ability to provide person-centered support, advocacy, and documentation skills.
